This is just so odd. I can't help but look at my old house, just 10 doors down the street, whenever I drive by. I want to see what they've done. You know, the whole TLC Moving Up thing.
Well, the past two mornings as I've driven past my old house to take G to his summer job, I have seen the same sight. The wife staring vacantly out the living room window. She looks strangely lost. This is not me projecting that she's thinking, "This place sucks, we made a big mistake." No, it's kind of disturbing.
She's really young. Just graduated from law school and is taking bar review classes at Emory. Hubby is a young banker, works up at the Perimeter at Wells Fargo.
Doesn't she have some boxes to unpack? Some books to crack. Some walls to paint? Should I giver her a call?
Call her. Or better yet, invite her to your new place for coffee. She does sound lost.
Best you don't go to her house for coffee yet though - she might feel a bit like she's being checked up on by someone who knows better. :)

I was a total space cadet while I studied for the bar exam. She must be taking the July bar as it is given in July and February in Georgia. Maybe you should invite her for a cup of coffee to break up her study schedule. That would be quite neighborly of you.

I agree with chailife atlanta - it is very difficult to be human when studying for the bar exam. My mom swears I became "like that little girl on The Exorcist whose head swirls around until she spits out pea soup". Whatever that means.
I'm sure she would appreciate an offer for a coffee break, though! (ALthough you might not want to mention seeing her gazing vacantly out the living room window).
