Have you been reading about the new book, Not Quite What I Was Planning, a collection of six-word
memoirs by famous and not-so-famous writers, artists and musicians.
It's a brilliant concept. Your life summed up in six words.
Here are some examples:
So, I'm thinking, what would my six word memoir be?
Some of mine:
- Simone deBeauvoir didn't really get it.
- I will always love my boys.
- Baked bread. Drank wine. Died happy.
- Never did I hit my kids.
- Bye bye Long Island. Hello Atlanta.
- Family. Haven in a heartless world.
- It went downhill after the Beatles.
- God was all wrong about shellfish.
- Looked like Mom. Lived like Dad.
What would yours be? Leave a comment or a six-word memoir.
The shellfish one? I laughed so hard the kids (and their friends) came running to see what was so funny.
Hated parents, hated siblings, loved kids.
Much eating, less drinking, little sex.
Drugs, rock and roll, died happy.
Books, gardening, travel, food are important.

"Bye bye Long Island. Hello Atlanta." Works for me. Some of mine:
Must I act like a grownup?
Steak; whisky; a woman's love. Joy!
Still warm and vertical? Don't complain.
